Introduction

The Lancashire & North West Beekeepers Association is a registered charity (No 506167) and was founded in 1882. The Association is affiliated to the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and is one of the oldest beekeeping Associations in England.

The Association covers the counties of Lancashire and Merseyside has seven Branches in total. Some of the Branches run courses for beginners and some also provide assistance for new members. Branches with an Internet presence provide programmes (e.g. meeting and event dates) on their own web sites otherwise a programme of events is held with us.

The Association holds a one day Annual Convention in late Autumn which gives the members of all seven Branch's a chance to meet up, have lunch and listen to the guest speakers.

The Association also has an extensive collection of beekeeping related library books that members can borrow.

There are currently three beginners 'Introduction to beekeeping' courses run by Branches within the Association :-
